Hi Seinde.
I hope the quietness on the group site is a moment of study and preparation for others as it is for me. I am still studying the 6 documents you sent me, but as you may have noticed I posted a video from a site called T.E.D (http://www.ted.com/) which addresses many issues to do with the future of this planet.
This link, along with others, was given to me by Chissie's husband who has, as I think I mentioned, just retired as course leader of Three Dimensional Design and Materials Practice after many years at Brighton University, and he is now part-time at doing only the things that interest him as research projects, one of which is a collaboration between Brighton Academics AND Students and those at Shristi University in Bangalore (led by Arvind Lodaya) concerning the maintenance of ancient arts and crafts which are the mainstay of probably something like 300 Million non-industrialised workers, in other words those who remain once you account for the 400 million smallholders that you have mentioned who could lose their lands to the "New Maharajas" of Agro-industry by the year 2020. The link to the Brighton University page outlining this research is: http://cetld.brighton.ac.uk/projects/current-projects/design-and-indian-traditional-village-manufacturing
Although it is not concerned with food sovereignty as such, there are obvious correlations, not the least of which is that they are as dependent, and may even be in some cases the same families, as the small-holders.
Chris Rose (that's why we call his wife Chrissie) is visiting Bangalore in February to advance the project further, and he is one of my guests on the next Vision Shack along with James Tijou who is working on parallel projects that, if successful, will also affect us all.
Both these men are potential trailblazers in the development of ways and means to protect everything from traditional small cottage industry "economies" to the sovereignty of consciousness (an example of which is the "virtual plebiscite" based upon internet technology that took place in Brazil led by Agosto Boal using theatre to change 13 NATIONAL LAWS - this is part of James' plan).
I do not wish to distract World Family from the main task of Food Sovereignty, but all these projects (and many others of which I am becoming aware through T.E.D and other sources) are concerned with Participatory Development, which is why the next Vision Shack will be about Participatory Development.
This, along with the re-birthing of Healthy Concerts, is also a part of my contribution to the future, and I do not know how long or in what manner I will be fulfilling my part in the Seminars you spoke of, but I feel the need to talk to both Caspar and Moving Sounds to gain more intelligence that can assist me in moving on this responsibility, as well as using my academic contacts and others in the UK to present the result to young people, trainee farmers, smallholders in trouble over here (for superficially different reasons, but they all add up to greedy giants making money) and so on.
I have many ideas like contacting farmer's associations and unions and tapping into or promoting inter-continental farming groups.
As you can imagine this is a lot of work, so I am going to paste this forum to both Caspar and Moving Sounds (and also members of the Brighton Branch who are meeting at Jocelyn's on Friday 30th afternoon, folowed by a proposed Healthy Concert for World Family that evening - so that all members can be thinking about all the issues involved, alongside your excellent summary of our first meeting and others and Nadia's notes from that meeting).
I also ask anyone reading who can assist me to get in contact. I also ask you all to listen to the program if you can, or if not send me by private message an address I can send a CD of the (new) program to - I have already handed out about 35-40 copies of the interview and discussion we did on 8th November at RadioReverb.
Sorry to be so verbose, but as you can see there are a lot of connections and possibilities, and I want to ensure that we reach an over all strategy so that we are like the bunch of twigs that cannot be broken.

Hi Matt
just looked at the walkyourtalk site and found the tour for 2008-what a brilliant idea! how are you going to carry the jumpers-do you have a trolley? Hope the heater is on wheels!
I know a couple of people up North tho' probably more northern than you're going!
Are you going through dorset? I know the Osho community in gillingham -I'm sure they'd love to help!
Also know someone in Manchester area if that helps.
Thank you ever so much for your love and solidarity. I am thrilled by your proposal and would definitely discuss it more with you and get it moving before I leave for Nigeria on November 09. I am en route Wales at the moment, to participate in the Walk Your Talk event that is takingplace there and we should be through by the 7th. However, I will try to find the facilities as soon as I arrive Wales later today and we can begin more detailed discussion. Love yo, brother.
Your video is a great inspiration in relation to ideas for travelling Theatre that Nadia and I have been discussing related directly to the issues that Seinde has raised over the last 2 weeks. It would be good to meet and talk with you - I don't know if you are coming to the meeting at Nadia's.If not sometime soon.
Louis.
Hi Matt.
Thank God you contacted me. I lost my wallet with your business card in it. I will send you my phone number by private message so we can talk, I have 100s of Orange Minutes (stranger idea, time having a colour). I hope you can come to the meeting Nadia proposes.
In terms of connections just keep looking on the site to seev who you feel could help.MovingSounds have worked with children here in Britain and intend doing a tour of Africa visiting projects that help children and then linking them up with children here.
I'm sure they would be a big help to you.
Ideas: I like the idea of doing a tour as a band or performers doing a play and giving out seeds and tools at the end to get people to form farming co-ops. This could be done in the UK and we could ask that when the co-op is established they find a way of helping people in poorer countries to do the same.Kind of a 'pay it forward' scheme.
This is something we at world Family could do. With your contacts you could help us to create a tour! Or you guys could do it!
My vision for the world is one in which politics of compassion take centre stage, one in which a united nations is the prevailing heartbeat and countries are mutually supportive, resources are shared and people have deep respect for one another.
My vision also seeks a multi faith culture in which all religions teach their followers to honour anothers faith no matter what the differences.
My vision also concerns the empowerment of women to redress the male ego dominated world which has long been associated with war, power and greed, only then will this world achieve a semblance of balance.
My vision concerns the environment and a return to a deeper relationship with the earth and spirit, and understanding the miracle of inhabiting this wonderous place.
About Me:
I've been a musician for many years in which time my life has become increasingly aligned with working with the notion of positive change. My recent activity has centred around teaching singing & self expression skills from children to adults, from those with learning difficulties through to those who are terminally ill. I am the energy and drive behind Eco band 'Nimomashtic' who over the last year and a half have walked 1200 miles from gig to gig in a bid to inspire others about the environment. I am deeply concerned about the state of the planet and many years ago decided to do all I can to help create a brighter present and future. I am an active member of the Brighton Peace and environment centre. Presently I am about to take a tree planting project into schools.
What are the creative skills that you feel you have or would like to develop.
I am singer, gutiarist, percussionist.
I am experienced in running workshops.
Film making
I am confident in public speaking.
I'm good at making things happen.
