what is your vision for the world?
The most important thing I'd like to envision is a world where people are more in tune to their spiritual selves and have a greater sense of community and connectedness of spirit. I'd like to see a peaceful, global civil society where each human being has the right to reach their full potential.
About Me:
I'm a Social Scientist , College Professor, Columnist and Conflict Resolution Specialist. Sounds like a lot of hats but the things I do overlap and are interwoven together.

What are the creative skills that you feel you have or would like to develop.
Part of me is an artist therefore on a regular basis I draw, paint, practice my sculpture and photography. I would love to get back into my music. I played clarinet and woodwind instruments until high school. Sports became my priority over music but I had always intended to get back to developing my musical skills but like all people life just keeps happening and I picked up new skills and developed other talents. But as I tell my daily...Your new life begins today!

Workplace Bullies

Recognizing a Bully in the Workplace

By Frank T. Scruggs

August 2009

Suzy Fox and Lamont E. Stallworth in their 2005 research study addressed the issue of bullying in the workplace, specifically as experienced by ethnic and racial minorities. Their research paid attention to expressions of bullying whether or not the bullying behavior was overt or subtle; when directed at ethnic and racial minorities they termed this type of bullying as racial/ethnic bullying. These researchers applied the te… Continue

My Thoughts on the 2008 Presidential Campaign

The 2008 Presidential Campaign
By Frank T. Scruggs, M.A., Ph.D. Candidate
May 2008

Needless to say, the 2008 campaign for the Presidency of the United States is an unprecedented historical event. In this particular race, the campaign itself has come to be a symbolic race of the previously disenfranchised; blacks and women to the pinnacle of government leadership. The image of the President of the United States has moved beyond a white males only club to a genuinely open contest.

The ascension… Continue

The Perception Black Men in North America

The Perception Black Men in North America
Frank T. Scruggs, M.A., Ph.D. Candidate
April 2008

What’s going on with Black Men, today? Among the social problems contributing to dismal statistics are racism, a decline of manufacturing jobs, faulty school systems, lack of parenting and other systemic issues that need to be addressed. One perception is that Black men are endangered; often portrayed as criminals, rapists and brutes.
In truth, what are Black men really like? Well, we are sure that ET… Continue

Music is the expression of one's spirit and is eternal both in the scientific sense but also in the spiritual sense. Harmonics and frequencies, tones and pitch can be studies as a part of audio engineering. We know that sound is never lost and goes on and on but given the idea of spirituality music is eternal as every expression of thought spoken, whisper , sung or played out loud. I am always fascinated by the idea that music played or sung will always exist and expressed the idea and the feeling of the musician...

It is interesting that you said "group of souls". Tonight while thinking of Makanjuola Olaseinde ARIGBEDE's last talk & discussion with African and Western music in a beautiful space in Brighton by the sea the phrase "Planet of Souls" came to me over and over.Imagine, a round planet in the darkness of space, beyond light there is a radiance sparkling in little individuals flares and little groups of radiance all over the surface. This is how I see the future in my mind. All these little lights connecting in many ways. All working in the same Great Universe towards some great Unknown Future, not that which has been thrust upon so many. Everyone free to live and love and learn and bring light and service to others.
Love, Honour and respect, brother, and good nigh I must sleep after 2 intense weeks.

Welcome Frank. Our little new group grows daily. I resonate strongly with what you say about Knowledge being the only wealth you possess, and the connections with people.
I am 61 and still believe in One World, the power of consciousness, being awake and mindful. In fact, I think I get better with age. Although I possess virtually nothing materially, I am have an Abundance of inner wealth and that is the kind of wealth that we are sharing here, as well as a commitment to Human-Kind and its finest aspirations.
Welcome,
Louis Loizou.
